Description
The Communications & Social Media Intern works with the Board of Directors to generate and distribute content for the organization’s website, email newsletter and social media channels. An emphasis is placed on the ability to develop a comprehensive, sustainable communication plan for the organization that aligns with the mission.
Duties and Responsibilities
Generate content for RCYO’s social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram) and monitor activity regularly
Draft and distribute a monthly newsletter
Generate and update website content
Develop a comprehensive, long-term communication plan
Provide suggestions for improving audience experience of social media, email marketing and website
Brainstorm campaign ideas and utilize analytics to gauge their success
Engage with the community in way that honors and reflects the overall mission, vision and values of RCYO
Desired skills/experience
Interest in youth development, small farms, urban agriculture and larger food systems issues
Experience with social media scheduling programs
Ability to learn and becomes proficient on internal systems
Ability to engage with and represent a diverse population of youth program participants
Ability to attend summer programming to collect youth stories and photos
Creativity, willingness to learn and a self-starter!
